Jamaican reggae singer Conkarah arrives for PNG concert

Jamaica’s newest reggae artist Conkarah has arrived in Port Moresby to perform for the first time this weekend.

Conkarah will perform at The Cosmopolitan in Moresby as the club celebrates its second birthday tonight (Saturday 7 November).

The 28 year old is excited to be here and with his great Jamaican reggae accent, he told the local media that he is looking forward to experiencing  the food and culture.

“I have a fan base in PNG so it’s really good to be able to come here and perform for people who appreciate my music.

“I have toured Europe and have discovered that people on this side of the world appreciate my music more,” said Conkarah.

He will perform his hit songs including Island Girl, Oceans Away, Remember the Days, Believe in Love and Heavey and he will be supported by Tuff Tumas.

Tuff Tumas Music is a label collaborating with artists from Melanesian countries including Vanuatu, PNG, Solomon Islands, Fiji and New Caledonia. Artists include Yung Yanny, Jamie Lee, Jagarizzar and Twin Tribe.

The talented singer plays guitar and piano and mentioned that he can only play the guitar and sing at the same time but not the piano.

He invited his fans to come out to see his show and enjoy some good music with positive vibes.

“It’s an honour to be here in PNG to perform for you all,” he said.

Tickets for the show are selling at The Cosmopolitan at K30.00 general admission and K50.00 VIP.
