Ian treks to have Christmas in the city

If there is a missing persons notice out by Milne Bay Police for an Ian Gario, about 30-years-old and of medium height, last seen wearing a Broncos colour collar shirt in Rabaraba District and has been missing for at least one week.

Look no further. Gario was found among the throngs of  Christmas shoppers at the Brian Bell Home Centre in Gordons Port Moresby this morning making up his mind to buy a Christmas present. But the going seemed  tough for this man from Aribi in Dogura area of Baniara in north coast of Milne Bay. It’s just that every thing seemed too good to be true, that making up his mind was troubling to him.

You  see,  Gario left home without letting anyone know, even his wife.  He caught a motorised dinghy from Wedau to Awaiama, jumped on a PMV  into Alotau and caught a flight to Port  Moresby. His sister was there to meet him of course.

For a first timer in the Big Smoke, Gario is taking everything in with awe. In fact, he wants to make a difference. He wants to spend Christmas in for the first time in Port Moresby, a wish that eluded him for more than29 years. But as the clock strikes 12 at midnight tonight his Christmas wish will come true of celebrating the day in Port Moresby.

What is your wish for Christmas?
