Hunters on third spot in Intrust Cup

SP PNG Hunters remain in third place on the Intrust Supper Cup ladder after Round 5.

Hunters gained two points after defeating Mackay Cutters 34-20 on Saturday at Mackay.

Saturday’s try scorer halfback Wartovo Puara said the win against Cutters was rewarding as they needed the two points before taking on a much tougher side like Townsville Blackhawks.

Hunters will challenge Blackhawks this weekend at the National Football Stadium in Port Moresby.

Blackhawks continue to lead the ladder on 10 points, while Burleigh Bears share 8 points with Hunters but Bears take second spot due to points for and against.

Easts Tigers are on fourth place with 7 points followed by Redcliffe Dolphins, Northern Pride, Sunshine Coast Falcons and CQ Capras all sharing 6 points, Norths Devils on 5 points.

On 4 points are Ipswich Jets, Souths Logan Magpies and Tweed Heads Seagulls while Cutters and Wynnum Manly Seagulls are yet to put a mark on the scoreboard.
