Hunters players down nursing injuries

Three players from the SP PNG Hunters Club are currently down with injury.

The players, Enoch Maki, Anderson Benford and Brandy Peter have recently undergone surgery.

Maki is faced with a knee injury while Benford is struggling with an injured foot and both have had surgery in Australia and are now back in Moresby undergoing rehabilitation to get back on track.

Peter was faced with a fractured hand and also had an operation last week and will be on the bench for three weeks.

Coach Michael Marum said they are on the road to recovery and should be back on the field before the season kicks off.

The trio are currently doing off field training as part of the rehabilitation program.

Marum added that the full 27-man Hunters squad is in full training and are preparing well for the game against the Penrith Panthers New South Wales Cup side on February 6.

This game will officially open the National Football Stadium.
