Huawei chief executive officer Dennis Hou thanked the operators, distributor and dealers for the support in innovating people's lives with their smart devices.

Huawei started to bring its smartphones into PNG since 2012 by working together with major distributor Digicel PNG Limited.

Hou said their goal is to become the leading smart device player in the world and PNG is an integral part of Huawei's growth strategy.

Meanwhile, head of Digicel Business Gary Cobain said launching the P9 and the introduction of their flagship is important as Digicel is driving smartphones across its markets.

The P9 is selling for K1999 and is available along with Huawei's other smart devices in shops across the country.
