The Pacific Games Council president Vidhya Lakhan has commended the government and people of Papua New Guinea for hosting the 23 countries of the Pacific.
Lakhan expressed the PGC’s appreciation of the PNG Government and the National Capital District Commission for their contribution and support in the planning and delivery of excellent facilities for the Games.
“The PGC is delighted to see such a large attendance at these Games by 4000 athletes and officials and we look forward to all of them being cheered on by enthusiastic crowds of Papua New Guineans,” he said.
Lakhan wished the athletes of the 24 competing nations all the very best and expressed his hope that their dreams for sporting excellence come to fulfilment in Moresby.
