EAP suffer second defeat against Victoria

The East Asia Pacific (EAP) side suffered a 91- run loss to Victoria Country in yesterday’s round 2 match of the Commonwealth Bank Australian Country Cricket Championships

Victoria batted first and set a big total of 245 for victory after batting out the full 50 overs.

This was thanks largely to a knock of 92 from opener Nathan Walsh.

EAP’s Apolinaire Stephen from Vanuatu took 3/31 with the ball.

The run chase got off to a bad start after opener Riley Hekure was dismissed for 8.

Wickets continued to fall cheaply until PNG’s Jason Kila and Kipling Doriga were brought to the crease.

The pair offered some resistance. Doriga finished unbeaten on 55 while Kila scored 30.

But in the end, EAP were all bowled out for 154 after 45.1 overs.

Adam Ward was one of the key figures in the win for Victoria taking 3/25

This is the second consecutive loss for EAP.
