DWU launches 2016 Academic Year with opening of new hall

Divine Word University launched its 2016 Academic year with the opening of its newly built community hall at its Madang campus yesterday.

Australian High Commissioner, Ms. Suzanne Edgecombe did the official ribbon cutting after Archbishop Stephen Reichert blessed the hall, naming it St. John Paul II Community Centre.

The blessing and dedication of the new hall was witnessed by staff and students as well as executives and members of the University Council.

Appointed President for DWU Ms. Cecelia Nembou gave the opening remarks to officially launch the Academic Year with Australia’s High Commissioner unveiling the plague of St. John Paul II.

The hall is to be used for recreational purposes, hosting events and meetings for students and staff.
