Duma: No changes will be made to SOE boards

No changes will happen to State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Boards, says Minister for Public Enterprise and State Investment William Duma.

The Member for Hagen Open officially  took office as the new SOE boss from Ben Micah in a handover ceremony held in Port Moresby yesterday.

Duma commended Micah of his achievement during his tenure.

“I have one and a half years to work, you have left an outstanding and strong structure, with a very good board, and I do not intend to change the wheels.

“I Will continue on what you have started and will maintain the status quo till the next election (in 2017),” Duma said.

Meanwhile, Kumul Consolidated Holdings (KCH) chairman Paul Nerau revealed that all assets of companies owned by the PNG Government tripled in value in the last three years under  Micah’s tenure as minister.

“During his ministry (Micah) the cumulative assets value of all SOEs that are vested with the general business trust managed by KCH has expanded from K5 billion in 2012 to now over K20 billion.”
