Duma leads way with DSIP acquittals of DSIP funds

Hagen Central District in Western Highlands has achieved a lot in terms of basic government goods and services through the newly created district development authority.

This was highlighted by local MP William Duma while presenting his 2015 District Services Improvement Program and District Support Grants acquittal reports to the Department of Implementation and Rural Development last week.

One of the major success of the DDA is the up-grading and sealing of all feeder and new roads within the district.

Duma who is also the Minister for State Enterprise announced that infrastructure development projects worth over K20 million would be expended, K10,872,828.44 had already been expended.

Duma said that DDA had also implemented rural electrification project to light up villages and communities which they had never access to power supplies in life time.

He acknowledged the support of the people of Hagen Central district as well as the LLGs and other stakeholders for the successful implementation of DDA.

Some of the notable impact projects implemented in the district include;

-              Supported Community Development Associations @ K4,750,000

-              Various minor road constructions and beautification @ K1,430,000

-              Sports (Wamp Eagle Rugby Team and Local Sports Groups and Clubs) @K1,222,000

-              Vehicle for Hagen Market @ K192,000

-              Stone wall construction @K115,655

-              Constructions of classrooms for schools in Hagen central district @ K500,000

-              Computers for UOG Open Campus @ K73,891.36

-              Construction of Kim Bridge @ K400,000.

-              Supplied two motor vehicles for Baisu CIS worth @K299,994.60

The Hagen Central District has unspent of K9, 875,180.32 and would be expanded in the future.
