Dorgan new chairman of CPNG

Wayne Dorgan has been appointed as the new chairman of Cricket PNG (CPNG).

Dorgan, who is the managing director of Pacific MMI Insurance, was unanimously elected as chairman at the recent CPNG Annual General Meeting.

Dorgan takes over from Mick Nades, who resigned as chairman.

A board member since 2013, Dorgan has worked in infrastructure and development roles with Cricket PNG before becoming deputy chairman in 2015.

The new chairman elect said he was extremely proud and privileged.

“It is a really exciting time for cricket in PNG. I am looking forward to moving cricket forward with this new board and management and complete transparency will be a major focus for the future,” said Dorgan.

Cricket PNG’s recent board restructure also sees general manager, Greg Campbell, now appointed as chief executive officer.

Campbell expressed gratitude to the outgoing chairman Nades.

“We are thankful to Nades for bringing Cricket PNG from an amateur status to leading us to International Cricket Council One Day International status. He has paved the way for us to take cricket in PNG to even greater heights,” said Campbell.
