Digicel Limited to list on Wall Street

Digicel Limited shares will be on public offering at the New York Stock Exchange soon.

Owner and founder of the Digicel group of companies Denis O'Brien revealed this  to his PNG employees on Monday.

Mr O’Brien who flew into the country on his private jet, dashed straight to speak and answer his employees’ questions at Vision City Paradise Cinema.

He said the company will be listed on the New York Stock Exchange this month or next month.

With the public offering, “30-35 percent shares will be sold,” Mr O’Brien said.

“It is a good thing because we will bring in more capital (when shares are bought) and make Digicel a competitive ICT company.”

He added that with the broadcast right to telecast Australia’s National Rugby League won by TV WAN, he hopeD in some years’ time, people could watch the game on their smart phones.

“Streaming NRL to mobile phone will be high on the agenda.”
