Digicel Foundation supports children’s education in Jiwaka

A primary school in Jiwaka Province celebrated the grand opening of two new classrooms last week, thanks to the generous support and funding of Digicel PNG Foundation.

Kurumul Primary School unveiled the double classroom project on Friday, May 13, with a special visit from Chapez Construction Building Contractor, Charlie Tumun.

Tumun, who helped oversee the construction of the classrooms, handed the key to the school head teacher, Leo Koimb Wii, in a special presentation on behalf of Digicel PNG Foundation.

The double classroom project included the installation of two classrooms, a teacher’s office, desks and chairs for 80 students, solar lighting, two ventilation improved piping pit toilets, two bucket showers and a 9000 litre water tank.

Kurumul Primary School is one of three Primary Schools in the Jiwaka Province to benefit from Digicel PNG Foundation’s double classroom projects.
