Dance band Jamrock to perform at Ela Beach

Non club goers and children will be able to see Australian based Afrobeat and Reggae group Jamrock perform live this weekend in Port Moresby.

The group will be supporting Governor Powes Parkop’s Walk for Life Healthy Living message with a free performance at Ela Beach on Sunday at 2pm.

Jamrock dancers will share their skills and teach some basic dance moves to the audience while sharing the message that exercise such as dancing, walking and yoga are fun and easy ways to stay fit.

Dancing helps not only with physical fitness, but also mental agility and is a great way to stay healthy.

The group arrives on Friday and will be performing at the Dragon’s Club in Lae on Friday and the Lamana Gold Club in Port Moresby on Saturday night.

Lisa Viola from Jamrock says they’re very pleased to be participating in this community event to promote healthy living.

“We look forward to seeing you all. Thank you to the Governor for this great initiative for the people," she said.

Parkop said we can all enjoy these forms of exercise, in the past we walked because we had to, now we should walk, dance or do yoga for our health.

Walk for Life takes place every Sunday from Jack Pidik Park at 5 am and is followed by a programme of entertainment at Ela Beach from 7am.
