Cult Movement In Schools Linked to Lack Of Philosophy

Student fighting and cult movements in schools are the results of students lacking philosophy.

This is the observation of the PNG TSCF Graduate Network Inc, the largest Christian professional network in PNG formed three years ago.

The network through its student arm in the secondary and primary levels called the Scripture Union has been financing programs to strengthen students’ spiritual foundations.

Chairman of the Port Moresby Chapter Benjamin Ketegu said the network is using especially its first goal which is art and entertainment, to influence this change in the young generation.

“As part of the network, we also have programs like sports, entertainment as well but on a foundational level, we think that there needs to be some strong principals that leaders need to give to young people

“We understand that today in this day and age, the world is moving fast and younger generation is actually influencing especially this area of entertainment and sports.

“When we bring in role models in leadership, we like for this young people to be mentored, given the strong principals in the bible,” he said.

Board Chairman of the network, Yando Nimbo stressed on the working relationship between the graduates network and the student arm.

“We have the student arm, which has the student team, staff members who are also graduates and assisting and each chapter is part of the institution that facilitates.

“We are fully aware of the real issues that are happening and there is work going on.

“We like to provide alternatives, that’s how we want to go forward,” he said.
