Cop in Tatana killing returns to court

The policeman and main suspect in the January 17 Tatana shooting returned to court today.

Philip Pokop is facing two charges of willful murder and unlawful murder for two separate incidents in Port Moresby.

Pokop is charged with willful murder in relation to the shooting death of Tatana man, Charlie Naime.

The charge of unlawful murder relates to an alleged shooting at Hohola in 2010.

Pokop was accompanied by his lawyer in court today to present submissions on the 2010 Hohola killing incident.

He has been given one month for his lawyers to prepare submissions for the Tatana killing.

He is currently out on bail and returns to court on August 31.
