Communities in POM show support to FIFA World Cup

Communities in the nation’s capital have joined in the hype for this month’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Men, women and children turned up at the Ela Beach Amphitheatre yesterday at lunch, dressed up in the colours of their favourite teams and carrying different flags.

There were five communities who turned up; Badili who was supporting PNG, Koki supporting Brazil, Morata for South Korea, Taikone for Nigeria and Konedobu for Spain.

The women’s World Cup will run from November 13-December 3.

Tickets officially went on sale starting yesterday and the first teams will touch down in the country tomorrow.
