Click-TV to partner PNG Fashion Week

Click TV will be the official television broadcaster of the inaugural PNG Fashion week to be staged on August 20.

The one year old television station in PNG teamed up with the committee only last week, for a three year contract.

Announcing the partnership yesterday at the newly built Stanley Hotel and Suites, Ruth Kekedo of Click TV said this move is to promote PNG culture.

“This is a wonderful synergy to provide a good platform for PNG to promote our culture and that’s one thing that Click- TV embraces – the promotion of PNG culture,” Kekedo said.

Click has been around in PNG since last year and has been involved in other events including being the exclusive paid broadcaster for the 2015 Pacific Games and 2016 Project runway.

Ruth encouraged other media to jump on board to grow the fashion, garment and textile industry in PNG.

Thanking Click TV for the bold move, Director of the PNG Fashion Week Janet Sios acknowledged other sponsor partners already on board.

“These are people who are critical to make it happen so I want to at the upfront thank them,” Sios said.

She said, there in the weeks leading to the event, more will join in.

In the meantime, she says all are welcome to sponsor in cash or kind or purchase a K120 ticket per person at the Frangipani Printing shop at Vision City car park.

“Your contribution will be at work to conserve and showcase PNG’s unique tribal/ethnic-inspired traditional designs that blend our traditional culture with contemporary fashion.”
