The NCD Metropolitan police commander Ben Turi is warning female residents to be careful about the types of taxi cabs that they use.
Turi was responding to complaints about taxi drivers taking advantage of women that they pick up.
He says that there are many good law abiding cab drivers and that these incidents, while isolated, should be a concern to other more genuine taxi businesses in the city.
Turi says that he is also trying to open talks with taxi representatives to see how best they can work with the police in curbing such matters.
