Christmas – the jolly good season’s back

Christmas is not only the season to be jolly but it's also peak season for travel, banking and shopping.

ANZ Waigani entrance in the Nation’s Capital, Port Moresby was congested with people this morning as they lined up to enter the bank.

A security guard told PNG Loop that people started lining up two hours early at the door before the bank opened at 9am.

“This is just the first and is expected to happen when days are counting down to Christmas eve and Christmas Day next week,” he said.

However, town centres are likely to be at their busiest, because throngs people will be doing last-minute Christmas shopping  and travelling home to spend the festive season, including those who may have flown in from other provinces.

Once again it is this time of the year which is known to be the busiest period in the country.
