Plans of the Lae Cancer Relief Society have begun to create awareness beginning this month.
Cancer Awareness Coordinator Grace Rudukka says plans have been put together and are beginning for doing remote mobile awareness in the nine Morobe districts for the year of 2016.
The awareness will be internally funded and will be focused directly on mouth and breast cancer awareness in Morobe Province.
Because the awareness will be funded internally, and not from donor funding they have prioritized it for maintenance and much needed equipment. Staff will be undergoing training starting now until February which will also be extended to rural health workers by mid-year.
Three villages of Nabak LLG were visited last year and seven organizations in the cityof Lae by her team.
