Buimo escapee shot in the buttock

A Buimo escapee was recaptured on Good Friday (March 25th).

The escapee identified as Brendon Kinjik was caught by police while attempting to hold up a vehicle along the back road of Malahang in Lae.

Kinjik was armed with a homemade gun and several rounds of 9 mm bullets.

Lae Metropolitan Police Commander Anthony Wagambie Jnr informed PNG Loop that Kinjik was shot in his buttock area by police while attempting to escape.

Wagambie Jnr  says that he has been wanted by police for a string of robberies along the back road area since his escape from Buimo.

The suspect was initially charged for armed robbery and remanded at Buimo at the time of his escape in February this year.
