Brian Bell employees donate 69 bags of blood

The Port Moresby General Hospital and the Corporate Blood Drive team commended the staff of Brian Bell Group of companies for donating 69 bags of life-saving blood over two days.

Sir Brian Bell Foundation (SBBF) and CEO Bronwyn Wright, chairman of Brian Bell Business Group and director of SBBF, Trevan G. Clough said he was gratified to see the Brian Bell Group staff raise their hands to donate blood and realising the importance of giving back to the community.

The Corporate Blood Drive program is going very successfully,”Clough said.

“This is because of the awareness now, through information posters, banners and pamphlets, people are aware that, with blood donations, they could be saving someone’s life, and that is very important,” Clough said.

The Sir Brian Bell Foundation has partnered with the Port Moresby General Hospital to put the Youth Blood Drive in action and believes in increasing the amount of blood collections made to PMGH to save lives.

“A great initiative for SBBF and PMGH that the message is getting out to everyone, of how important it is, not only in donating blood, but also allows them to have a medical history on having their blood analysed, to check whether there are any medical problems.”

Merchandise Planner, Sri has donated four times and hopes to continue for a lifetime. “It’s a great thing, it’s a mutual health thing, and those who donate have better health and give back to the community, we are proud to do it,” Sri said.

Sri acknowledged the hard-working staff of the PMGH blood bank and thanked them for visiting the Home Centres and Service centre to collect blood donations.
