Barras to tour Hong Kong after Namibia

The PNG Hebou Barramundis will tour Hong Kong early next month for the three-game ODI series after hosting Namibia.

The event is part of the round robin league matches between the eight participating teams; Ireland, Afghanistan, Scotland, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Papua New Guinea, Netherlands and Namibia. They are all vying for a chance to get into the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2018 and subsequently to qualify for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in England and Wales.

Hong Kong has named their squad yesterday for the upcoming match while Papua New Guinea Hebou Barramundis is looking to maintain their team against Namibia.

In a similar match played in 2014 in Australia, it was the first ODI matches played by Papua New Guinea since gaining ODI status by the International Cricket Council, which they crushed Hong Kong 2–0.

However, this time Hong Kong have the advantage of hosting PNG in the round robin ODI series qualifier that will be held on 4th to the 8th of November at Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground.
