Barras in control after day two

The Hebou PNG Barramundis are in firm control on day two of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Intercontinental Cup (ICUP) against Namibia.

Resuming play this morning, the Barras were finally all bowled out for 311. Captain, Assad Vala was the standout finishing the innings unbeaten on 144.

With the ball in hand, the Barras ripped through the Namibian batting top order and left them reeling at 5/35 after 21 overs.

But Namibia’s tail-enders put up some resistance with Sarel Burger (52*) and Johannes Jonathan Smit (23) helping their side to reach triple figures.

The Barras eventually bowled out Namibia for a 146 with Lega Siaka taking the last wicket. This gave the Barras a lead of 165.

Norman Vanua (3/39) and Siaka (3/16) were the Barras top bowlers.

The Barras started their second innings at 4pm with openers Vani Vagi Morea (0*) and Tony Ura (4*) extending the lead to 169 before the heavens opened up and the match was delayed.
