Artists ready to perform tonight at music awards

Performing artists at this year’s YumiFM Digicel PNG Musik Awards are set to hit the stage tonight at the Lamana Gold Club, Port Moresby.

They’re Sean Rii, Tarvin Tounie, Hot Wills, Sinklaine, Demas Saul, Wah’Koo, Jokema, Solomon Islands group Dezine and the boys from PRO ED production Narxson, Iroro and Gee Ruun & Bata Bah.

The artists, who are also nominees, were kept busy this week with rehearsals and public appearances at various locations in Port Moresby, meeting fans and promoting the event.

Tounie and Wah’koo Boys front man Eldiz Mune told Loop PNG during the week that they’re excited and looking forward to performing in front of their fans.

Tounie said this will be his first time performing at the awards as a solo artist and he can’t wait.

Jokema and Dezine are expected to belt out three of their popular tunes tonight as well.

Nominee for Male Artist of the Year Uralom Kania will not be performing but will be present to witness the event.

Over 15 nominees will be vying for awards in 18 categories including Song of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, Chart Consistency, Hall of Fame, Best Collaboration and Listeners Choice for artists, song and group.

The five-hour show will start at 7pm with YUMIFM’s most talked about personalities, Kasty and Papa Heni Fuka, hosting the event.
