Alotau gets new stadium

The newly built Habona Gaige stadium was officially opened yesterday by Acting sports Minister Labi Amaiu.

Alotau MP, Charles Abel said this stadium is named after Habona to remember him as the true icon and favourite son of Milne Bay.

Abel said the stadium at Alice Wedega Park will mainly be used for rugby and other sporting activities plus church organised crusades and fellowships.

He said the Alotau Urban Ministers fraternal manage the stadium.

He also presented a truck under the DSIP fund to help the fraternal.

The stadium was built at a cost of K2million.

One million kina from the National Gaming Board and the rest was met under Abels DSIP funding.
