Turning tragedy into blessing

A family has turned the loss of their daughter and sister into a blessing for a deprived community.

The Nossar family lost Alisson Aroai Nossar to a car accident four weeks ago.

Honouring Alison’s love of reading, the Nossars will be donating a library to Pukari Primary School in Gulf Province.

The school lack’s reading books and its current library infrastructure is infested with terminates and has been forced to close.

Late Alisson’s mother, Moro Sarufa Nossar, who is also a teacher by profession and local from the area, was saddened by the state during the family’s recent visit to Pukari.

Her main concern was literacy, which she stressed is valuable for communication, especially in developing language skills.

The family met with the school’s principal, Erevai Toere, who was very grateful for the kind gesture.

Toere agreed that literacy was important. He said unfortunately the English language skill was missing with students in the area.

The Nossar family promised to return to fulfil Alisson’s dream.

Mrs Nossar also offered to help develop a literacy program.
