A team from the Public Solicitor's Office visited Sogeri National High School this afternoon to talk to the students about the roles and functions of the Public Solicitors Office.

Solicitor in Charge of the Public Solicitor's Alotau Branch Peter Palek, and SIC of the Public Solicitors Manus Branch Tom Kahleh, led the team, who gave awareness to students on the role of the Public Solicitor and his Office in the National Judicial System.

At the same time, they spoke about the offices’ role in encouraging the policy that "Prevention is better than cure".

Speaking on behalf of the Acting Public Solicitor, Leslie Mamu, the Deputy Public Solicitor- Civil, Thomas Ilaisa stressed the importance of education, being the key for them to realize their full potential in life.

Mr Ilaisa challenged students to change any negative behaviours and attitudes, set a goal and set their priorities in working towards that goal.
