Newspaper staff donates 21 bags in Corporate Blood Drive

The management and staff of The National newspaper yesterday donated blood to the Corporate Blood Drive team at Port Moresby General Hospital.

Port Moresby General Hospital and Corporate Blood Drive team thanked the newspaper staff for rolling up your sleeves once again for this worthy cause by donated blood yesterday.

The CBD team managed to collect a total of 21 bags of life-saving blood from the newspaper team.

“Your generous donations will save many lives and help many ill patients at PMGH,” a CBD rep said.

Melton Pais, a journalist said he was delighted to donate blood for a second time.

“Donating blood is a two-way thing; to help those in need of blood transfusions, and to help the donors know their health status. I have an O blood type which is a universal blood type; I feel it is my duty to donate.”

“Thank you PMGH blood team for visiting The National newspaper and bringing blood collection services right to our door step.”

As the festive season approaches the hard-working staffs of the PMGH blood bank are trying their best to maintain adequate stock of blood which will cater for any emergency cases during Christmas and Year New (2017).
