Mutzing containerised x-ray unit arrives

The new containerised x-ray unit for Mutzing Health Centre, in the Markham District, has finally arrived.

Installation is now in progress, in preparation for the official launching on Friday in Morobe Province.

Markham MP Konni Iguan says the first part of the facility was brought to Mutzing on Sunday, where installation is expected to be completed by the end of the week.

Iguan praised the efforts and commitment of the Australian government’s assistance in setting up an x-ray at Mutzing health centre.

The ‘Independence gift’ will include installation, power, training, transport and three year servicing, all thanks to the Australian taxpayers.

The AUSAID funded project will further include mobile electric suction cement, biochemistry analyser, a morgue fridge, amongst other crucial tools and equipment that will boost medical services in the District for the first time.

Minister Iguan says the facilities will be more sophisticated than that of ANGAU Hospital in Lae.

The MP commits to build a new house for the x-ray officer in the district.
