Marape hails church partnership

Minister for Finance and Tari-Pori MP, James Marape, had acknowledge the initiative by the Hela Council of Churches in partnering with the Hela Provincial Government.

Speaking at the recent swearing-in ceremony of the Provincial Executive Council members in Tari, Marape commended Governor Philip Undialu for the wisdom to initiate such partnership with churches.

“I have committed myself to work with Governor Philip Undialu when it comes to developing the province”, he said.

“The Governor is the boss of the province and we must all learn to work together and learn to respect authority in place to run the province.

“We do not have all the knowledge, we need guidance, prayer, counseling from Hela people. Come with purity of heart to do work,” he said.

“Our province has a great potential, we have more work to do, and so I appeal for total unity to let our Governor lead us,” Marape said.

CIS Commissioner, Bernard Naipo, also accompanied the MPs to Hela to inspect Hawa CIS.

Undialu said the visit by the Commissioner will ensure key areas that needed support will be identified and prepared for operations soon.
