K50,000 for earthquake relief

K50,000 has been injected into the Highlands Earthquake Relief Appeal yesterday.

The donation was made by the board of Grand Columbia Limited Group of Companies.

The donation acknowledges that the earthquake victims still need assistance even 4 months after the disaster.

The donation through the government’s appointed restoration account will be used to assist those people who urgently need it.

Grand Columbia director, Tony Witham, acknowledged relief efforts by the government and other organisations in trying to restore the lives of the affected communities.

Witham said while the disaster may have been months ago, to the affected people it is still real as they scavenge for food, housing and general wellbeing.

As a long term business partner of PNG, the donation by Grand Columbia will in some small way contribute to the overall relief efforts.

Grand Columbia is a subsidiary company of FinCorp.
