Foundation hosts meet and greet for partners

Digicel PNG Foundation once more had a meet and greet with its partner organisations this afternoon.

The event saw representatives from the Chesire disAbility Services, We Care foundation, 4L Training and Consultants – CLC TISA and Men of Honor recipients.

The event is held quarterly to share stories and see the impact of the program in communities.

Each partner shared their stories and brought at least one person to give their testimony on how the combined effort by the partner organisation and Digicel Foundation has helped their lives.

Also present at the meet and greet was the Digicel Global Chairperson, Maria Mulcahy, from Ireland.

She will be in the country for a week.

Mulcahy is here to oversee the work the foundation is doing. As part of the visit, Mulcahy just returned from Bougainville where she went to see the projects by the foundation on ground.

CEO Digicel Foundation Beatrice Mahuru addressed the gathering, thanking each of the partners for the relationship.

“Digicel Foundation goes into socially marginalised communities but we’re not as pervasive. We don’t go right down to the grassroots level like We Care foundation and Chesire.

“We’d like to acknowledge the hardwork that they do. It takes a different kind of person to be doing the type of work you do,” she said.
