Digicel Foundation showcases work

The Digicel PNG Foundation Team this week showcased its work to parliament members and officials during the Speaker’s Investment Summit at the National Parliament House in Port Moresby.

It is in its tenth year of working in the space of development, providing opportunities to member of rural and remote communities with basic education and health services.

Displaying models of the infrastructure that have been rolled out to the rural remote communities, Digicel Foundation’s stall surely caught the eyes of the exhibiters and the elected members of the parliament.

The aim of this was to let members of the parliament know that Digicel Foundation is truly a trusted partner focused on community development, having invested back into the communities over K85 million.

Building a world where no one gets left behind is the motto that drives the team of 12 to passionately give back to the community, using a hand up approach as opposed to a hand out approach.

Established in October 2008, Digicel PNG Foundation has directly invested K85.98million (US$27.03) in rural remote and socially marginalised communities across all 22 provinces, has left a footprint in all 89 districts and 65 percent of all LLGs in PNG. This has directly impacted over 785,000 people.
