Digicel continues to back Nature Park

Digicel has announced its continued support to the Port Moresby Nature Park with the provision of Digicel products and services worth K70,000.

Digicel PNG has been a proud Gold Sponsor of Port Moresby Nature Park since 2012 through the provision of in-kind CUG, Internet, EVD Top Up and maintenance support.

Digicel PNG Senior Vice President & Chief Sales Officer, Lorna McPherson, said: “We’ve been a sponsor to the Port Moresby Nature Park since their infant stages back in 2012 and we are delighted to have been a part of their growth their accomplishments over the years.

“This sponsorship marks our seventh year of partnership together and we look forward to being a part of more exciting events and projects to come.”

Lorna added: “We are happy to see this partnership continue into its 7th year and we know that there are many exciting events and projects coming up for Nature Park and it’s an honour to be part of it.”

Over the last 7 years, Digicel has also assisted the Park through networking of the Park’s entry building when it was built in 2013 as well as through Digicel staff volunteering at the Park at past public day events.

On accepting, Port Moresby Nature Park general manager, Michelle McGeorge, said: “Digicel’s sponsorship has enabled the Nature Park to not only dream big, but achieve big.

“Funds saved have enabled us to redirect them into activities including construction of our reptile house, development of new attractions and creation of new learning opportunities.”

McGeorge added that in-kind sponsorship is just as valuable as cash sponsorship and contributes equally to the development of the park.

On Saturday 27th October, the park will be celebrating the grand opening of its brand new exhibit Plumes of Paradise which showcases its collection of birds of paradise species.
