Owning a home in PNG

Owning a home is every family’s dream.

But how does one go about in owning one?

These questions plus many more were answered during the two-day Real Estate Show at the Sir John Guise Indoor Stadium in Port Moresby over the weekend.

Hausples.com.pg had organised the Real Estate Show with over 7,000 people recorded to have visited the show during the two days it ran.

CEO of hausples.com, Mathew Care, said: “The whole idea of the hausples.com show is to bring all the PNG real estate under one roof – from new homes, whether homes in development like Edai Town, Toaguba Estate, right through to kit homes and shipping container homes.”

People were able to speak to real estate agents and the banks to get a loan as well other features for maintaining their homes.

The show, which started last year, has gained popularity with great interest shown by Papua New Guineans in buying a house.

“People have an abundance of land but shortage of houses and a lot more people are increasingly being able to afford a home through initiatives such as the home ownership loan scheme, the ability to use your Super to find a deposit so home ownership is affordable more than ever and people want to make the investment and find about how they can actually live in their own home,” said Care.
