NAC urged to comply with standards

The National Airports Corporation (NAC) board and management have been urged to comply with governance standards.

Outgoing Minster for Civil Aviation, and returning member-elect for Esa’ala, Steven Davis, said this when receiving the NAC’s Annual Reports for the years 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Davies commended the board and management for the completion of the reports, saying the organisation must conform to requirements and compliance processes so that they are performing well.

“The expectation of Government is focused on ensuring that all our institutions were efficient and accountable, but overall, the outcome we want to achieve is a safe transport system which CASA drives, secondly, an efficient and cost effective sector,” said Davis.

He added: “We take this as a very positive and encouraging step that the NAC management and board have taken.”

Board chairman Ruben Aila said along with the reports, all Annual Returns have been lodged, putting NAC at the top of Government agencies in complying with the Companies Act.
