Mining and Petroleum Conference set

The PNG Mining and Petroleum Conference and Trade Fair is set for November 28th to 30th in Port Moresby.

The conference provides a comprehensive technical update on PNG’s mining and petroleum industry.

These include new developments, advance prospects, discoveries and exploration as well as economic and social achievements.

Prime Minister Peter O'Neill will open the conference with a keynote address focusing on PNG’s economy in a global context.

The Chamber, together with the support of ANZ, has also announced an international speaker in ANZ's Chief Economist, Richard Yetsenga, who will will explore how PNG and its resources sector can optimise opportunities in the global market.

PNG Chamber of Mines and Petroleum says interest for the biennial event is steadily increasing with a good number of both international and local delegates expected to attend.

A trade exhibition showcasing nearly 40 different companies and institutions will be running parallel to the main conference. A total of 600 delegates are expected to attend.
