Injury-free 16 months

Staff of High Arctic Energy Services in PNG have been praised following a record 16-month incident free report in its operations in PNG.

High Arctic announced the milestone yesterday, saying as of August 24, 2017, and the preceding months, its PNG operations worked over 600,000 man hours without a significant injury to any of its staff.

High Arctic worked for the world’s top oil companies such as Oil Search, ExxonMobil and Total, often in some of the most difficult operating and logistical areas.

President Mike Maguire said the achievement is part of a commitment made when they first established in PNG to make safety a priority.

“I am very proud of the way our people have embraced our safe work initiatives, consistently demonstrating a commitment to each other, and working to improve their skills.

“As an organisation, we value the opportunity we have been afforded to enable this to occur,” said Maguire.

Their performance accompanies that of its Canadian operations, which is celebrating a total of 24 months incident free.

High Arctic provides drilling and specialised well completion services and supplies rig matting, caps and drilling support.

High Arctic has around 300 staff in PNG.
