Good rates to be packaged for pageants: Hotel

The partnership between Coral Sea Hotels and Miss Pacific Islands Pageant PNG will see the PNG committee use a suite at the Gateway Hotel and Apartments as a business centre.

Further to that, the hotel group will be packaging good rates for its three Port Moresby hotels for visitors traveling in to witness the local (August 31) and regional (November 30) pageants this year.

The gold sponsors of the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant PNG will be using their three Port Moresby hotels of Grand Papua, Gateway and Ela Beach for activities and functions related to the local and regional pageants.

During the announcement of their support, Miss Pacific Islands, Leoshina Kariha, acknowledged the Coral Sea Hotels for backing the MPIP platform for the first time with the generous sponsorship of K167,000 in kind.

“The three hotels in Port Moresby will serve as accommodation and a base for both local and regional pageants this year,” she stated. “Grand Papua Hotel in town, with modern touches and luxury, will host the judges and important delegates. The Gateway will host our lovely contestants and The Ela Beach Hotel will host their supporters, including their teams and families.”

Group Sales & Marketing Manager of Coral Sea Hotels, Sharon Onsa, who is also the former Miss PNG 1993, said their sponsorship is in kind as they believe in empowering the women of PNG as well as the Pacific.

“Because once you empower a Papua New Guinean woman, you can empower the whole of the South Pacific to all have the same goal for our people, for our islands.”
