Customers urged to bank safe

The festive season is here and BSP is encouraging all customers to bank safe.

Avoid carrying too much cash when shopping or travelling.

“BSP’s Electronic Banking (eBanking) solutions are safer banking options that every BSP customer can use to do basic banking and pay for goods this festive season leading into the new year,” says the firm.

“BSP’s eBanking solutions are practical and ensure that you save time and enjoy convenient banking.”

This season, think about using mobile banking, personal internet banking to transfer money to your family instead of visiting a branch to make a deposit. Customers can use their BSP cards via the EFTPoS to make payments, so there is no need to carry cash.

BSP agents and sub branches are located in your communities to help you reduce cost in travelling to town to do a withdrawal or a deposit of cash.

Mobile banking

BSP mobile banking allows you to use your mobile phone to conduct basic banking functions without having to visit a branch or an ATM. With mobile banking you can:

  1. Check your account balance and view a mini statement.
  2. Transfer funds to a nominated BSP account or an account with another bank.
  3. Top up your mobile phone credits or purchase EasiPay.
  4. You can set alerts to inform you when there is activity on your account, such as salary alerts.

To register for BSP mobile banking, visit your nearest BSP branch.

Personal internet banking

Personal internet banking allows you to conduct banking services via the internet using your computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone. With personal internet banking you can:

  1. Check your account balance (s)
  2. Transfer funds to a nominated BSP account or an account with another bank.
  3. Top up your mobile phone credits or purchase EasiPay.
  4. Make BillPay payments
  5. Schedule payments so it can happen now or later – this feature is convenient because you do not have to leave your office to make payments for rent or bills etc that are reoccurring. You can simply schedule and forget about the hassle.
  6. Make overseas payments
  7. View and print your account statement(s)

Using your BSP cards at ATMs and on EFTPoS machines

Upon opening an account with BSP, customers are issued cards for ease of access to their funds. BSP has tailored cards for each account, such as KunduCards, visa debit cards, Sumatin cards and smart business debit cards.

These cards offer you the convenience of accessing your funds and you do not need to carry large amounts of money, putting yourself at risk of being held up and having all your money taken away in one go.

These cards enable you to access your BSP accounts at any ATM and EFTPoS in PNG and globally, (when using your visa debit card) to withdraw cash or pay for goods and services.
