Chinese firm agrees to split contract with local companies

A Chinese Firm contacted to build to the Henganofi-Nubiri Road has agreed to engage local usb-contractors at up to 50 per cent of the project cost.

 China WuYi Co. Limited was awarded the contract valued at K81.7 million following a signing of instruments at Government House on Tuesday for the project in Eastern Highlands Province.

This means around K40 million be available for local construction firms to vie for in the project.

China WuYi Co. Ltd representatives, Ding Hongliang, and Shi Zhijie, signed the contract before the Governor-General, Bob Dadae, and witnessed by Works Secretary, David Wereh.

Work on the road is expected to begin soon.
