BSP wins HR award for 4th year in a row

Bank South Pacific has for the fourth consecutive year been recognized as the ‘Best Private Sector Employer’ after scooping the award for 2016.

The banking chain received the award from the PNG Human Resource Institute this week on having the best HR practices and industrial relations.

In a media statement BSP General Manager Human Resources, Hari Rabura, thanked PNGHRI for the recognition and said the bank was proud to receive this prestigious award.

She acknowledged the support of a strong and vibrant Board and Executive Management team for investing in the firms greatest asset – its human resource.

She said this is to meet the banks strategy of transforming into a modern, innovative and technology driven bank, focused on improving its sales and service capabilities.

Rabura also said the bank has invested heavily in succession programs to develop local staff who will become BSP's next generation of senior and executive managers and leaders.

"This is the level of commitment BSP has in developing our human resources. As the leading bank in PNG and the South Pacific, we strive religiously to ensure that what we do is aligned to best HR practices and industrial relations," she said.

PNGHRI President, Jerry Wemin, said the award encourages all other organisations to emulate the practices of BSP as a role model organisation in the Private Sector.
