For the last two weeks, CPL has been rebuilding and recovering in the wake of the devastating fire at their head office and warehouse in Gerehu, Port Moresby.
After the fire on Saturday, 18th June, temporary offices have been established in Waigani, where they now have operational warehouses at Badili and Waigani with critical back office business processes up and running.
“All City Pharmacy, Stop N Shop supermarkets and Hardware Haus stores were able to trade uninterrupted during this period,” the firm says in a statement.
“As CPL has been able to recover quickly and is on an express pathway to return to normal business activity, it requested the POMSOX suspension to be lifted.”
Managing Director Joe Barberis states: “We believe the market is now fully informed concerning the events of 18th June 2017 and there was no reason why the suspension should remain in place.
“CPL is grateful for the support from its business partners and acknowledges the effort and commitment of the CPL team in recovering the business so quickly.
“While there may be some minor inconvenience to our customers as we stabilise our product flow, we are working hard to minimise any disruptions.”
